 Pow!!
 Pow!!
Well for the most part breakers are better, untill they get stuck.Ive run in to that many many times, Ive also been hit,and the breaker would not trip, now with the fuses you take it out then you know its off, they pop at there rateing, unless there are pennys under them...
Ive seen that too

 I learrned three controls.............
 I learrned three controls.............
I did learn and use three controls on the DMX board. That kill switch did come in handy when Matthew and I were at church. He was running thru his songs and displays..........when something went south. Luckily it wasn't in either of our directions. Got the adrenaline going in both of us.............Cat

NICE! I like that controller, surely a lot of functions.
Why did you put all your projectors at one spot? Wouldn't it be nicer to spread your stuff across the area?
And if you don't mind me asking - what is a spiderbox? Is it something that converts three-phase to normal electricity sockets? I had many problems with those too on a two day gig for school. First night six of the ten sockets just broke (reason unknown) and I lost power for the computer (a laptop so no problems), MIDI-control, fog machine (aww... needed this one for the 'big last shot'), my two killer 2000W spots (my luck there was another circuit for the non-DMX controlled spots) and a few flood lights.
Second night the box went down completely. Fortunately there was a speech of the director to get everything back to order.
I hate this things...

Thanks! That is my Maxim Max/XXLP DMX board and I love it!!
Well I did that because of space and to keep the beams in a safe place, But yes having them apart would have looked betterbut it worked!!
Well a true spiderbox does convert, exp. 240 dryer plug. Thats what I call it but its really a distribution box, I run 50amps to it and I have 6, 20 amp circuits. I've only tripped it once, when I had all my lights plugged in to it
Oh no that's not good!! I put twist locks on mine to keep the cords form coming out, or kicked out... I had someone do that to me before...

There are two definitions. The most common one (and the one that any contractor will be familiar with) is simply a remote distribution panel. Or to be even more basic, a commercial-grade power strip. Essentially it's a device that plugs into one power source (frequently a distribution panel, or even an incoming line, but depending on the model it can also connect to a heavy-duty outlet designed to deliver more current) and gives you lots of other outlets at some remote location.
The second definition is the one that has special meaning to laserists, and any other tradesman that might need a source of 220 V power when there are only 110V circuits available. In this case, a spiderbox is a device that bridges two or more 110V circuits in order to create a 220 V outlet. Ordinarily I'd link you to the LaserFX.com website where they have details on how to build one, but the site appears to be off-line at the moment.
Here's the google cache of the page, but without the pictures it's not very helpful.
No. To do that all you need is a transformer with a center tap on the secondary that you can connect to one leg of the 3 phase power. The transformer will reduce the voltage to 220 V and also provide you with the neutral conductor for 110. This is very common, as the power that comes from the power plant is 3 phase, and is only converted to single phase (and also stepped down in voltage) when it enters your neighborhood. Is it something that converts three-phase to normal electricity sockets?
Most of the time, laserists are more interested in trying to convert single phase 220V power back to 3 phase power to run larger ion lasers. And in order to do that, you either need a rotary phase converter (essentially a 3 phase motor with single phase power connected to one of the pole windings, and a clever set of inductors and capacitors connected to the other two poles to allow it to start), or a motor-generator (literally a single phase motor and a 3 phase generator that share a common shaft).
