When I started in this, two of Cambridge's sales engineers were women. Two very sharp, very attractive engineers hand picked by the company founder. Both could tune galvos. Both showed up at laser conferences. One got into it enough that she had a RGB system built for advertising for the company.
A while back I inquired what happened to them. One is a stay at home mom, the other left for a better position in a bigger company.
Lexel's East Coast Sales Engineer also designed their intracavity optics, including colorpro. Also female.
I could name a bunch of older female laserists and artistic directors...
I don't know about the new crowd.
But I fully expect Roberta to blast lasersbee any second.. If not Jasmine.. If Not Phyllis... JoAnne would not post here, she's too busy making a profit...
Coherent's marketing staff is quite integrated, as is SPs.
Fully half the marketing folks I buy materials from are female...
And there is one lady in OZ down under who is revolutionizing the development of solid state color conversion..

Qui habet Christos, habet Vitam!
I should have rented the space under my name for advertising.
When I still could have...
