Dude.... your smileys just about have me rolling on the floor sometimes! Where the hell do you come up with these?? We should "sell" collections of them to support PL!!

I already posted my feelings earlier and have followed this thread with interest. For me personally, I don't even notice the once a month $10 hit and would prefer that to a once a year thing although, *$12 is no biggie. Paying my ILDA dues at $125 all at once is a whole different story! I never even thought about the fact that we don't have advertising and, when I follow links to other forums sometimes, such as LPF, I've discovered I HATE how jammed up it is. PL is SO much easier and cleaner to read. Not a fan of the ad idea. Unless it were in it's own area. My personal feeling is, for most here, this is a hobby. I don't care if you collect stamps, model trains, paint, do photography, make ceramics or garden. You've got expenses associated with that hobby. And, often a hell of a lot more than $12! Buy one gardening book and you're over $12. Get one book on model trains - more than $12. It's the information source to enhance and develop your hobby. A book's information is finite. PL is a living, breathing, up-to-date, ever changing wealth of knowledge. The proposal is that most everything remain free and that you would only pay to get into advanced content and discussions. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

*(I say that now. It um... might be a whole different tune once Jon's done with me! lol)

I think the main point is, we need a VARIETY of ways contribute, that fit as many people as possible....So, how soon can admin have all this up and running?

No worries, m8, you know I can 'take it'... I think... *sniff*... *sniff*.. bwwwuuuaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!! jk... Seriously, I heartily agree... the more 'varied' the-options, the better chance of broader-support... but I do still submit, at least one, should be a 'baseline-guarantee' concept...

RE: 'how soon can Admin..'? *shrugs* Dunno, his call.. But I think he's prolly 'chilling' and waiting to take-in the broadest-amount of perspectives.. the more people vote, I think the better he would 'feel' about making a decision that truly represents the 'majority'... 200 votes will certainly 'feel broader' than 40, ya?

I strongly agree with Norty303 that multiple options are better than fewer options. I too would pay for access. Hell, I blow 1-2 diodes a week and have an icon for Edmond Optics. Seriously.
However, recently, the view numbers are up a lot. Is this real/good? Would this hurt? Does this matter? The reason I ask is that the content, based on new posts or topics, does not seem to have expanded noticeably. So My guess is the answer is no and so fees probably are a good idea. Maybe the first month is free. After that "your mine".
