What happened to chapter 13?
What happened to chapter 13?
There are lens combinations you can use to scan fat beams with smaller scanners.. But these come with their own can of worms, including the need for some very precise lens mounts and limits on scan angle...
I ordered the book...

I should have rented the space under my name for advertising.
When I still could have...
AHA, good point. I might update the chapter to include information on this. In the case of the Mach DSP, it's only around 2 microseconds between the sample being captured and the output to the power amplifier DAC. It's not zero microseconds, but also not bad. Certainly not a problem driving up to 90K...
If I did, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of putting it on Amazon? Do I not deserve 35 cents per person who downloads it?
Hehe. Same thing that happened to the 13th floor on elevators ;-)
PS: Reviews on Amazon are appreciated...
I think what he meant was PDF for purchase.Kindle format is limited as you say and hardcopy might be expensive for some.
Perhaps there's a service which you could use to sell password locked PDF files and people would receive their individual passwords via an automatic email from said service after purchase?
You can argue that they can share the pdf and its password with others, but if there are people willing to go out of their way to do that then they can as easily scan each page of your hardcopy and generate a pdf and share that instead. Kindle can probably be hacked too.
Maybe I just don't know something about the kindle format which makes it better than passworded PDF.
@Nii If you want a PDF version, you can still pay for the book through amazon and then turn it into a pdf with Calibre. It can be quite a lengthy process and I'm not a lawyer so I don't know how legal it is.
@Pangolin: Thanks for your book, it was really interesting. I will be picking up a print copy in the future.
Hi Nil,
You've got a good point there!
First let me say that -- yes, there is a PDF version. In fact, when you upload the file to Amazon for them to print the book, it's a PDF file that you send them.
Second, let me say that -- at 35 cents a copy, clearly my goal isn't to make money with this... However, each sale that is made on Amazon counts toward my rating as an author. So I wouldn't want to simply send everyone a PDF version and get no credit for it what so ever if you know what I mean...
So with this, and given Nil's good point, I'll make you all a deal. If you buy the Kindle version or Paperback version and send me the digital receipt (by email), I'll send you a download link so you can download a PDF version so it can be viewed on your computer, searched, etc.
Best regards,
William Benner
Do you have to have a Kindle to read the Kindle version? I'm interested in the book but don't really want to spring for the paper edition. Personally, I'd probably pay $10-$15 for the soft copy version. Not sure why you are selling it for only $0.99 but that is pretty generous considering the audience for such a book is relatively small.
There is also a Kindle app for phones/pads.
