You may be right about availability and cost. This is a low likelihood option that I want to rule out as we go forward.

888 diodes may suddenly be more available then 808. Or people may wonder why they see a 888 FAP on the Bay. So we're just keepin up with the Joneses...

Eric, My medical friend has a couple of V folds and W folds that are side pumped that he will be working on. If you call him, he'll send you pics. He's not the email/pm type. He uses voice.

The paper we're working from calls for a

"0.5 at.% by weight , 3 x 3 x 4 mm Nd:GdVO4 crystal

Thats 4 mm long.

We need AR 808/1064 one end, AR 1064 Other end.

If we could get 808/1064 AR both ends that would be sweet.

Sample Pump diodes are inbound to the secret hidden lasercave...

I posted about a week ago to see if there was any interest in these lasers if they came to pass. There hasn't been any response. I am not looking for a firm commitment and certainly nothing financial, but if a design existed as well as suppliers and the specific components then who would be interested in building or having built and owning a DPSS 532? I will pursue this one way or another, but the level of interest suggests how forthcoming to be as the details are learned.

I am IN of course for the 3.6 watt design, maybe the 5 watt.

I'm interested. Especially if its kept simple. Otherwise i will probably investigate the Nd:YVO4 + MgO:PPLN chips on eBay. Looks like 1W can be had for just over $300. I have been thinking 4 of these could be knifed together to get 4 watts or 8w with cube.

And where are those chips now ? I asked a few questions ,done some digging around , and questioned them about
Some confilcting info on there website 2 mins later they closed all ebay auctions ??
Somthing fishy there i think ?
